Jared Kushner: bad for the Jews

New York's The Villager newspaper provides a profile of Jared Kushner, president-elect Trump's Orthodox Jewish son-in-law who  is apparently being considered as "special envoy" to the Middle East.  His top credential (apart from being Trump's son-in-law)? Being a hard-right Zionist, of course.

Kushner apparently wrote Trump's speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) back in March, in which he predictably said that Obama and Clinton have treated Israel "very, very badly."

"We will move the American embassy to the eternal capital of the Jewish people, Jerusalem,” Trump promised, “and we will send a clear signal that there is no daylight between America and our most reliable ally, the State of Israel.” (The Forward adds, for good measure, that the family's Kushner Foundation is a major donor to some of the most "hard-line, ideological settlements" on the West Bank.)

And why was this written up in the downtown-focused Villager? Here's why. Kushner is a major landlord in New York's East Village. The piece was entitled wittily: "Peace in Middle East? How about fixing the heat? Kushner tenants skeptical."

It seems that while Kushner was writing Trump’s AIPAC speech, Jared's real estate company Westminster Management was in and out of court over its inability —or refusal—to address basic living conditions in several of the young mogul's East Village buildings. Especially noted were "long-term lack of services, including heat and cooking gas, plus electrical outages."

Two  anti-Semitic stereotypes for the price of one! Ultra-Zionist hardliner and sleazy New York landlord. They are practically setting up the anti-Semitic backlash that they are already exploiting in fascistic manner.

You almost have to admire their chutzpah.
